DayoSense is where Joy and Excellence
are the main ingredients.

CHEF DAYO EDWARDS

Chef Dayo (pronounced “Dah-yo”, a Nigerian name that means Joy Arrives) Edwards was born and raised in Seattle and was inspired to create DayoSense “Dah-yo-sense” in 2005. DayoSense is where Joy and Excellence are the main ingredients within their full-service Catering, their Black Love Seasoning Product Line, and their Kwanzaa Campus (which is the DayoSense Headquarters and Private Event/Meeting Space). DayoSense brings to the table a wealth of wisdom and knowledge in action through well-trained staff and the hiring of other Small/Micro Community Businesses that hold the same values of Excellence and Joy.

THE CATERING

DayoSense Catering began in Chef Dayo’s home kitchen. In 2005, she began making meals for a few of her close family and friends who would show up at her door twice a week to pick up what she refers to as “family favorites”. Within four to five months the demand for her food grew which allowed her to hire hostesses and provide 40 guests with bi-weekly meals. Eventually, she was asked to cater larger birthdays and graduation parties which prompted her to want to officially learn more about the culinary industry. For 2.5 years she attended Culinary night school while working as an architect by day. Yes, Chef Dayo is also a graduate of the University of Washingtons school of architecture and was a practicing architect for 10 years before taking the big leap of Entrepreneurial Faith into the culinary world full time.

Today DayoSense Catering has an impressive list of clients, including Amazon, Zillow, The City of Seattle, The University of Washington, and Sellen Construction. Serving groups Comfort Foods from different Cultures everything from sack lunches to platted formal meals.

THE SEASONING

Black Love Seasoning was created by Chef Dayo as her Wedding Favor in 2016, Black Love Seasoning is a bold blend of her “North West” and her husband’s “Miami”. A bold blend of warmth and sweetness that is down to Earth with a little bit of a spicy kick… Just like Black Love! Black Love Seasoning is low salt, gluten free and contains only dried spice.

Black Love Seasoning now offers a curated selection of products, they include: Black Love Sweet Set, Black Love Gift Set, Black Love Mixed Nuts, and Black Love Seasoning in small and large quantities..
